How to Choose a Good Air Conditioning Company
Sep 15, 2016
Florida is inundated with options for HVAC technicians, but how can you weed out the poor services from the good ones—without suffering a bad experience first? A little research can go a long way in identifying a good air conditioning company in Florida. Before you pick up the phone and schedule an appointment, take a few minutes to get to know their reputation first.
Most of your research can be done online in a matter of minutes, and the difference can save you both time and money. Up to thousands of dollars!
Ensure the Business is Credible
Most of us know or have someone who knows a good “handyman.” Someone that can MacGyver their way through just about anything that needs fixing. However, when it comes to high dollar machinery such as air conditioning and HVAC systems, it’s better not to take any chances. There’s a reason credible companies are licensed and certified to work on them, after all.
So before you hire a business to come repair, replace, or maintain your AC Unit, make sure they’re licensed and insured. This protects you and the business should something go wrong. You can also look them up on the Better Business Bureau. A company doesn’t have to be BBB accredited to have a rating, and they do a thorough job of detailing the company’s history of reviews and complaints.
See What Past Clients are Saying about the Business Online
If a company has been around long enough, they will have some kind of “carbon footprint” of feedback online. Make sure the reviews are good overall. Check popular social media and review pages such as Facebook, Google, Angie’s List, and Yelp! Businesses with good reputations will typically maintain anywhere between a 4-5 star rating.
Don’t just look at the star rating. Read what people are saying as well. Take note of any trends that may appear. Are they constantly on time? Do clients boast about their friendly service? Do they receive reliable maintenance and systems? Or is it the opposite? Be aware of what the consensus appears to be. It’s much easier to learn from other people’s past experiences rather than firsthand.
Also, look at what Google is saying about them lately. Have they won any awards for outstanding services? Communities and networking sites often rank and acknowledge businesses who excel at what they do.
